Vision Statement:
The vision of the Harrisburg R-VIII Library Learning Center is that the librarian, staff, and physical space:
- will be an integral part of discovery and learning throughout each year of a child’s education in our district.
- will insure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
- will be a source for reliable and quality information in print, nonprint, and electronic/digital formats.
- will be a source of innovative ideas and creative instructional resources.
- will provide programs and promotions which support self-selected reading.
- will provide a safe and non-threatening environment where students and faculty of all learning styles and abilities can pursue intellectual and recreational interests in a comfortable, non-threatening, and supportive setting.

R-VIII library program is to support and enhance the teaching and learning environment to encourage students and staff to be independent users of information, informed citizens, and lifelong learners.
